The Brief

For this project, I was commissioned by Bright Plan Civil to design a transport assessment document that aligned with their established branding. The brief was clear: the document needed to be simple, editable, and stand out while maintaining consistency with their core brand colours and shapes. The challenge was to create something functional and professional, but also modern and stylish, in line with the company’s identity. Bright Plan Civil’s branding had already been developed over time, and the aim was to extend it into a document that could be used regularly for client communication.

The Process

The process involved developing a few template options that would be both adaptable and visually appealing. I incorporated the brand’s core colours and logo shapes, ensuring that each template was bold yet easy to work with. I carefully selected transport and city photography that would complement the design and colour scheme, ensuring everything felt cohesive. After presenting three different options, the client chose their preferred template. I then made any final tweaks, ensuring the layout was user-friendly and editable, allowing for quick adjustments by the in-house team.

The Result

The result is a highly successful and practical design that fits seamlessly within Bright Plan Civil’s existing branding. The templates are now regularly used in-house for transport assessments and other documents, making the process of sending out client materials quicker and more efficient. It’s a piece that not only meets the functional needs of the company but also reflects their brand in a stylish, professional way.

The Reflection

Reflecting on the project, it was quite a straightforward design task, but the outcome was significant in terms of functionality and impact. The templates I created have become a staple within Bright Plan Civil, used regularly for client-facing documents. The final product maintains a balance between corporate professionalism and modern style, which perfectly aligns with the client’s brand identity. It was rewarding to know that something I created is being used consistently within the company and adding value to their daily operations.
