The Brief

The Bognor Regis Gaming Association (BRGA) is a long-running local board game club that had been operating for 15 years without a strong visual identity or online presence. Membership numbers were in decline, and without a clear, engaging brand, the club risked closure. The goal of this project was to revitalise BRGA with a modern, bold, and inclusive brand that would attract new members while maintaining the club's welcoming community spirit. The branding needed to be eye-catching and reflect the diversity of games played at the club, appealing to a broad audience, from seasoned tabletop gamers to newcomers. Additionally, a strong digital presence was required, including a website and social media assets, to make it easier for potential members to discover and engage with the club. The design process involved regular feedback and approval from club members to ensure the final outcome truly represented the BRGA community.

The Process

The rebranding process began with research into similar gaming clubs, industry trends, and audience expectations. Through discussions with club members, we identified key values that the branding should reflect: inclusivity, accessibility, community, and fun. The logo underwent multiple rounds of design, refining the concept to ensure it was bold, modern, and representative of the club’s spirit. Colours, typography, and supporting visuals were selected with a balance of vibrancy and neutrality to avoid gender bias and ensure maximum accessibility. The website and social media assets were designed with user-friendliness in mind, focusing on clear navigation, readability, and engagement. Each stage of development was presented to the club committee for feedback and approval, ensuring that the final branding was something the entire community could take pride in.

The Result

The rebranding of BRGA was a resounding success. The new identity provided a modern, energetic look that resonated with both existing members and potential newcomers. Since the rebrand, the club has seen an increase in attendance, with more engagement from younger members and a growing presence online. The website and social media pages have allowed for better communication and outreach, helping sustain and grow the club's community. The bold, versatile branding has also improved visibility at events, making BRGA a recognisable and welcoming space for board game enthusiasts of all backgrounds.

Colours

The colour palette was chosen to be both striking and inclusive, balancing cool and warm tones to appeal to all audiences. A deep purple and bold black serve as the base colours, symbolising sophistication and creativity, while bright teal and electric blue add energy and contrast. These colours ensure the brand is visually engaging without being overly masculine or feminine, making it welcoming to everyone.
