The Brief

This project was a delightful and fun commission for Goodwood, specifically for their Good Woof event. The event celebrates all things dog-related, from competitions and shows to activities like yoga, acrobatics, and walking. I was tasked with creating six illustrations to represent different areas of the event, including the reading area, yoga, wellness, acrobatics, walking, and the woodland walk. The style was briefed as cute and colourful, with bubbly shapes and lively dog characters. It was important to include a variety of dog breeds, with a special emphasis on Labradors as it was the “Year of the Labrador.”

The Process

The illustrations were designed to be engaging and eye-catching, with a playful and vibrant colour palette, perfect for promoting the event across digital platforms such as newsletters, social media, and emails. I loved working on this project because it was such a departure from the more refined, high-end branding I’d worked on for Goodwood in the past. The fun, lighthearted nature of the illustrations really allowed me to show off my colourful side and bring a bit of joy to the branding.

The Result

The Reflection

Reflecting on the project, I feel proud of the end result. The illustrations have a great sense of energy and capture the spirit of the event. However, if I were to revisit them, I would spend a little more time refining the line work, especially the faces of the dogs, to add more detail and clarity. But overall, the result is a lively, fun, and effective series that really stood out from the usual photography and content Goodwood shares. It was a great success in terms of engagement and helped make the event stand out on their platforms.
