A fast passed logo animation using 2D techniques to animate the historic Goodwood Qatar logo for digital purposes.

The Brief

The brief for this project was to create an animated version of the iconic Qatar Goodwood logo, a prominent feature across the brand’s materials for the horse racing event. The animation needed to be used primarily for digital platforms, including the event’s digital day card, social media, and website. The goal was to make the logo more eye-catching and dynamic, particularly for use on the front of their bold yellow timetable booklet, both online and in print, drawing attention and enhancing its visual appeal.

The Process

For the animation, I hand-drew each frame in 2D, taking inspiration from vintage Victorian-style animations, where spinning motion creates a dynamic effect. The animation features a jockey riding a horse within the logo’s crescent shape. The horse’s movement was carefully animated to loop seamlessly, creating an ongoing, playful effect.
