The Impact
To begin with, I researched the Duke’s original illustrations and diaries to understand the visual language of the time. I then translated these hand-drawn, sketchy line work drawings of hounds and the Duke into vector form, staying as true to the original style as possible. I used these vectors to animate the characters—whether that was the hounds wagging their tails, bowing, or moving their heads—to give them life on the website. The animations were designed to be subtle and sophisticated, fitting seamlessly within the digital experience. In addition to the illustrations and animations, I worked on redesigning the web page’s UX to ensure that these assets were incorporated cohesively and added to the overall elegance and charm of the site.
